Developments in Leeds

During the Covid-19 pandemic, due to the sustained rise in need across the frontline organisations across Yorkshire, we decided to expand.

Here at FareShare Yorkshire, we turned two into three by creating an additional central warehouse in Holbeck, Leeds.

The new warehouse allows us to redistribute frozen products across the region, with an 80-pallet capacity chiller installed and 75 racking spaces for ambient surplus stock too.

It’s all change for our original warehouse in Leeds too. We have renamed it ‘Yorkshire Storage Hub’ (YSH) and it has had a complete refit. It now has a 30 pallet freezer capacity and 196 ambient racking spaces.

The frontline organisations we support feed thousands of individuals each week and to be given the opportunity to expand will have such a fantastic effect on the work we do. It allows us to continue sending our surplus food to even more charities, community groups, schools and more.

If you are a company in the Yorkshire area who would like to discuss our transport solution or donate bulk surplus food to FareShare Yorkshire, please don’t hesitate to contact Jonathan Williams at [email protected]

270,000 tonnes of perfectly edible food gets wasted by the food industry each year.

That’s enough for nearly 650,000,000 meals
