Annual General Meeting – Review 2017/18

On Friday 16th November FareShare Yorkshire held its Annual General Meeting to review the previous financial years acheivements.

Andy Studdart, Chair of Trustees led the attendees through the highlights of the previous 12 months and thanked all our supporters, Donors, Community Food Members, Volunteers and Staff for their support, dedication and hard work.

FareShare Yorkshire is about to embark on a exciting period of growth and development in part due to financial support from ASDA and the Big Lottery Fund working in partnership with FareShare UK.  The continued support from all our partners is as always greatly appreciated as we seek to support communities all accross Yorkshire who suffer with Food Insecurity issues.

A video of the previous 12 months of our work can be seen here.

FareShare is the only charity to take food from the wholesale level of the food industry

The vast majority of surplus occurs before food even gets to the supermarket. Each FareShare regional centre takes that food and redistributes to those in need. FareShare Go is our supermarket collection service, which deals with supermarket-level surplus.
