Our team is really proud to be serving as distribution partner to the fantastic team at Childhood Book Project, who have redistributed 1.4 million pre-loved children’s books to children who may not have even a single book.
Our task is to place quality second-hand books for children aged 0 to 3 with some of our frontline partners who offer wraparound care and food to people in need. This might be a single parent at a women’s refuge, an unemployed parent who cannot afford baby books or a family that has fled conflict abroad.
FareShare Yorkshire’s CEO Jonathan Williams said “We are delighted to be supporting the brilliant work of Childhood Book Project. When Tracy and Laura reached out to see if we could replicate the wonderful work they already undertake in London with The Felix Project, we were very keen to lend a hand.”
The first round of distribution will take place in May and June 2025, and we hope to continue supporting this vital work. Just like we believe no-one should go without the food they need, there are other vital resources that many people sadly go without when times are tough. Together we can make a difference and support people who may feel hidden out of reach.
