Young Marketeers head to Barnsley Market

We are thrilled to announce that on the 7th of July, School Food Matters’ Young Marketters will be taking over Barnsley Market for a very special day of homegrown fruits and vegetables sales, and every penny raised is coming to FareShare Yorkshire.

After months of hard work in the garden, these incredible young people will be selling the produce they have grown themselves, with all proceeds donated to FareShare Yorkshire to help redistribute surplus food to families and individuals across Yorkshire who need it most.

The Young Marketeers programme gives children the chance to grow, harvest, and sell their own food, building confidence, skills, and a lifelong connection to where food comes from. Seeing them take that journey all the way to market day, and choosing to give back to their community, means the world to us.

We are so grateful to School Food Matters and every one of these brilliant young growers for their generosity and community spirit. This is exactly the kind of grassroots support that helps FareShare Yorkshire continue its vital work.

Come along on the day, buy some beautiful homegrown veg, and cheer on these wonderful Young Marketeers!
