Russell joined FareShare Yorkshire in March 2025 at our Leeds sub-regional centre. As Warehouse Supervisor, he plays a key role in the day-to-day operations, from receiving deliveries to preparing high-quality surplus food orders for our community partners. Known for his infectious positivity and unwavering can-do attitude, Russell brings a smile and uplifting energy to the team every single day.

Based in Wombwell, Alan officially joined our team in May 2025 as Warehouse Supervisor, after generously volunteering with us since late 2024. From day one, Alan has brought energy, care, and a genuine passion for helping others. He’s especially skilled at supporting new volunteers, corporate groups, and individuals on employability placements—always taking the time to show them the ropes, check in on their wellbeing, and make sure they feel safe, included, and valued. Alan is a much-loved member of the team, known not just for his reliability and leadership, but for being an all-around great guy.

Elizabeth joined Fareshare Yorkshire in November 2024 and she plays a central role at FareShare Yorkshire as our Volunteer and Training Manager, bringing energy, compassion, and dedication to everything she does. Passionate about supporting volunteers, she ensures that everyone who gives their time—whether long-term, short-term, or part of a corporate group—has a rewarding, enjoyable, and safe experience. Elizabeth works closely with teams across our sites and with the FareShare National Volunteering Team to deliver a consistent, high-quality volunteer journey. She is also committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety and providing training that empowers individuals to grow in confidence and skills. Her leadership is key to helping us build a strong, supported volunteer community that drives our mission to end food insecurity across the region.

Mark has been part of the FareShare Yorkshire journey since 2008, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for supporting people and communities. He began as a Forklift Truck Instructor before becoming Training Manager, working closely with Barnsley College and ITS to assess NVQs and ensure high standards through internal quality assurance. Mark later transitioned into volunteer coordination and employability support, playing a key role in helping individuals build confidence and skills. After retiring in 2023, his dedication brought him back in 2025 as Community Outreach Manager, where he now focuses on strengthening partnerships, supporting Community Food Members, and helping drive forward our mission to reduce food waste and fight hunger across Yorkshire.

With a sharp analytical mind and a passion for innovation, Michal is constantly finding smarter ways to improve efficiency—saving both time and money so more resources can be reinvested into supporting our communities. He is deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive environment for staff and volunteers, while ensuring high standards of quality and service across all warehouse operations.

Ithsham joined FareShare Yorkshire in February 2025, bringing a strong commitment to supporting communities through wellbeing and employability services. He delivers engaging workshops and one-to-one sessions for beneficiaries, helping them access the support they need to thrive. Ithsham works closely with external partners and Community Food Members, building meaningful relationships and ensuring services are responsive and impactful. A dedicated team player, Ithsham is always ready to lend a hand and genuinely cares about making a positive difference through his work.

Ruth joined FareShare in April 2024. She has previously worked in education, for a short time in a supermarket, volunteered at a Foodbank for a number of years and has experience running a food pantry (under Good Food Barnsley). She now works in our Development Team and supports Community Food Members across South Yorkshire.

Sam joined the team in December 2023 after spending his spare time volunteering with us. As a Supervisor he supports operations in the warehouse, ensuring safe preparation of surplus ambient and chilled food to frontline charities across Yorkshire. Sam also helps us by delivering the surplus to our CFMs and supervising our corporate days.Sam has recently been promoted to Warehouse Manager after working for us for 11 months due to his dedication and hard work!

Daniel joined the Leeds team in 2023 as a Warehouse Supervisor Mentor. He assists the team in day-to-day warehouse duties, including picking & packing surplus orders for community food members and supporting operations throughout the warehouse. Daniel brings his knowledge from previous FareShare experience, as well as his incredible team working and mentoring skills to this role, ensuring everything is running smoothly and offering his support to all. Daniel has recently qualified as our FLT instructor and is able to deliver gold standard training to our team!

Pete started working for FareShare Yorkshire in 2014 when FareShare in Leeds was launched. After a number of years supporting operational growth, he now works in our Development Team and supports Community Food Members across West and North Yorkshire. In 2021, he supported the site transition of our Leeds-based operations which have grown four-fold in the last 7 years. Pete has also been a constant support to large numbers of projects in Leeds that tackle holiday hunger.

David first joined FareShare Yorkshire in January 2023 as Warehouse Supervisor at our Yorkshire Storage Hub, where he played a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient preparation of surplus food for frontline charities across the region. He also gained two ITSSAR-accredited forklift permits and later supported operations at both our Leeds SRC and RC sites. In 2025, David was promoted to Community Outreach Manager, where he now leads on strengthening relationships with our Community Food Members (CFMs), supporting food safety and waste reduction, and aligning community partnerships with FareShare Yorkshire’s wider operational goals. David brings a hands-on approach, strong strategic focus, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact across the communities we serve.

Stephanie joined the team in early 2022 as Food Provision Coordinator in Leeds. She then went on to become Food Provision Manager in October 2022, working on various projects and managing our Leeds sites.

Now, as FullCrumb Community Outreach Manager, she directly supports and signposts our community food members. Offering additional support to our organisations, she strengthens the relationships and is a big part of our FullCrumb developments.

Matthew joined the team at our Leeds Sub-Regional Centre in June 2024 as SRC Manager. He brings with him many years of Operations Management experience within a warehouse environment. Matthew particularly enjoys the community feel for the role and would always takes lead in Corporate Responsibility in his previous roles. Matthew is great at hosting our corporate volunteers and loves to see them get passionate about redirecting surplus food into the Yorkshire community. After seeing the great work Matthew is capable of, he was promoted to Head of Operations from October 2024.

Terry was a long-standing volunteer at our Barnsley Regional Centre and now works for the charity across logistics and operations. He plays the crucial role of ensuring tens of tonnes of surplus food is collected from across the region ready for dispatch to the frontline.

Chris is the Project Manager in The FullCrumb Kitchen. The FullCrumb Kitchen aims to support community members in educating them on how to utilise surplus food. Chris provides hands-on kitchen training for community cooks, as well as offering recipe ideas and kitchen tips. He also links charity partners and encourages them to share recipes/ideas with each other about surplus food.

The kitchen facility is used for training staff and volunteers, including carrying out in-house courses. The aim is to ensure health and wellbeing by teaching cookery skills and basic nutrition.

Josh has been a regular volunteer since 2018, volunteering at our Barnsley Regional Centre and offering a huge amount of support both in our warehouse and with our corporate volunteers. His dedication and leadership were nationally recognised when he was highly commended for Leadership in Volunteering in 2023.

In 2024, Josh officially joined our staff team as a key member, bringing his extensive hands-on experience and passion for the cause to the role. His ability to inspire others and his commitment to making a difference have made him an invaluable asset to our operations. Josh continues to lead by example, driving positive impact through both his work and ongoing engagement with volunteers.

Before joining the staff team, Duncan volunteered at our Barnsley warehouse for 14 years and has supported FareShare Yorkshire for the majority of the journey so far.  He drives our lorry and vans, collecting quality surplus food from partners across the region.

Keely joined FareShare Yorkshire in 2015 as an apprentice operative. She then became Shift Supervisor overseeing and mentoring our employability trainees. As Warehouse Coordinator, she supported the rapid growth of our operations so that more frontline charities could benefit. She then went on to become the Barnsley Warehouse Manager, playing a big part in the operations and organisation of the warehouse. Now as Warehouse Supervisor, she is based on the warehouse floor, right in the heart of what we do. She oversees warehouse & driver volunteers, as well as ensuring orders and deliveries are dealt with smoothly and efficiently.

Mo joined the team at our Leeds Regional Centre in December 2024 as Warehouse Supervisor. He started with us shortly before that on our Employability Programme. Mo brings with him many years of experience in driving Lorries, busses, FLT. Mo is passionate about helping people and is a great asset to FareShare Yorkshire as he regularly supports all three of our sites in Yorkshire.

Jonathan joined FareShare Yorkshire in June 2017 and serves as our Deputy Chief Executive.  For most of the last seven years he has held responsibility for the development of our work, overseeing the design and delivery of major new initiatives.  In that time he has created and managed relationships with many food, corporate and foundation partners while driving our financial sustainability.  His development of our regional food supply has enabled us to drastically expand the number of charities and community groups we can support.
