Apprentice Warehouse Operative
The Role:

If you enjoy physical work and want to be part of a great team, this job is perfect for you. As a Warehouse Operative, you will handle goods and products that come into the warehouse providing support to the 241 charities we support.

Duties Will Include:

  • Taking delivery of goods and supplies
  • Loading & being a driver’s mate on a 3.5-ton van delivering food across Yorkshire
  • Delivering excellent Customer service
  • Checking for damaged or missing items
  • Storing goods
  • Moving stock around by hand, using lifting gear or a forklift truck
  • Picking and packing orders
  • Loading goods for dispatch including delivery using vans
  • Keeping records of stock
  • Keeping paperwork up to date
  • Cleaning work areas

The Person:

To become an apprentice with us you will need to have a good level of fitness, work effectively and efficiently. You’ll also need to use IT systems to process paperwork and carry out stock processing.

Skills Required:

  • A good level of fitness
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Ability to work quickly and well
  • Ability to complete paperwork and count stock items
  • Basic computer skills
  • A basic understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Honesty and reliability

The successful candidate will study a Level 2 qualification in Warehousing and Storage This will be aided by an Assessor who will carry out all assessments as work based learning, within the workplace.

Hours and Wage:

30 hours per week

4 or 5 weekdays at either 09:00 to 17:00 or 09:00 to 15:00

£150.00 per week
